Curriculum Vitae

Alexandra Inayat graduated in chemistry from Martin-Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Germany. During her specialisation studies in technical chemistry she dealt with the preparation of porous glasses, mesoporous silica and the surface characterisation of porous solids. In 2013 she obtained a PhD in chemical engineering from Friedrich-Alexander University (FAU) Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany, with a thesis about the preparation of solid base catalysts for the conversion of bio-based molecules. During this work she gained deep knowledge in the synthesis and characterisation of porous materials, especially zeolites, layered double hydroxides and mixed metal oxides. In 2015 she joined the Green Chemistry Centre of Excellence at the University of York, UK, in order to learn about sustainability in general and to investigate the challenges associated with the green conversion of bio-based molecules into potential monomers and solvents. In 2017 Alexandra Inayat returned to the Institute of Chemical Reaction Engineering at FAU, where she currently builds her own research group with major focus on a greener preparation of porous materials and their application in more sustainable chemical processes.
